More to the point, you can take the chance to score a _really_ amazing deal. It's not obviously documented, but Canon reports that the black rebel qualifies for the Cash In With Canon rebate program.

Here's the deal. Buy the Black Digital Rebel for 899.95, and two more qualifying lenses. I'd suggest the 50mm 1.4 USM ($331.65) and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM Telephoto Zoom Lens ($589.94). There are other choices, but these are great classic lenses to play with--and a there's always a demand for them.

Buy the gear: 899.95 + 331.65 + 589.94 = 1821.54
Get the triple rebates: 3 * (100 + 15 + 25) = 420
Sell the lenses on ebay: 50 f1.4 ($260+) + 70-200L ($500) = $760

Total: 1821.54 - 420 - 760 = around $641 for a brand new, black rebel.
